A public service organization in Whitehorse is looking for dependable individuals for casual positions involving field interviews to collect data. Candidates should have winter driving experience and strong customer service skills. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, recording data, and ensuring confidentiality. This role requires outdoor work throughout winter months and a class 5 driver's license. Training will be provided to develop skills necessary for success.

Yukon Bureau of Statistics (YBS) is a branch of the Yukon government (YG) in the Department of Finance. YBS helps governments, businesses and residents of Yukon make informed decisions with the provision of timely and reliable statistical information. The Bureau collects, analyses and publishes statistical information, and works on statistical research projects and data modelling. YBS collaborates with and assists YG departments and external clients in providing professional expertise and support in data collection, analysis and statistical research. The Bureau also collaborates with Statistics Canada, other federal departments, and provincial / territorial statistical agencies on matters of mutual interest.
YBS is currently looking for dependable individuals with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service. As a successful interviewer, you will establish contact with survey respondents ensuring their eligibility, conduct face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with respondents to collect information using survey questionnaires, record responses into computer programs/databases, and maintain confidentiality of information. Your knowledge of interviewing etiquette will help you succeed in this position. Some Evening Shifts May Be Required.
Remote work is not an option for this position, successful candidates must be physically present in Yukon.
Majority of work will be outdoors, throughout the winter months often in rural and remote areas.
