Job Information

You would be responsible for assisting with instruction and providing support and encouragement to students diagnosed with special needs and/or who require additional attention in order to ensure all students have the opportunity for a successful and meaningful learning experience. You would have direct impact on your students and their families; your work will increase the chances of having these students remain in the education system and gaining the skills required to be successful in life.

Key Requirements:

The completion of Grade 12 combined with related training in working with special needs students and experience in an educational environment.

Related training is defined as any post-secondary training or professional development (including workshops offered by the GNWT or TCSA).

Relevant experiences include a minimum of 6 months experience as a Substitute Teacher, working as a support assistant, etc. It can also include the following:

• Day camp worker for students under 18
• Daycare worker
• Camp counsellor
• Coach for students under 18
