An educational institution in Ontario is seeking Supply Paraprofessionals to support students with special needs. Candidates must have an EA or CYW diploma and be able to work on an on-call basis from September to June. The role includes delivering support under supervision and passing a Physical Demands test. Supply Paraprofessionals (Educational Assistants/Child and Youth Workers) All Schools. Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) serves approximately 65,000 students in 123 schools, as well as alternative and continuing education sites. The Waterloo Region District School Board is currently seeking applications for ‘‘Supply Paraprofessionals (Educational Assistants/Child and Youth Workers)’’. Supply Paraprofessionals will work under the supervision of the Administrator at the school that they have accepted the assignment for and receive direction from the teacher(s) at that site. Supply Paraprofessionals may be required to support students with a variety of special needs. This work includes providing support for the behavior, safety, medical and physical needs of a student. A condition of employment as an EA/CYW with the Waterloo Region District School Board requires that one must pass a Physical Demands test. All job offers will be conditional on the candidate passing all components of this test. This applies to any EA/CYW that does not already have Permanent/LTO level D hours. Successful candidates for the supply position will be working on an “on call” basis from September to June and be willing to complete all aspects of the role.
