Job Title: Subject Matter Expert – Rotating Equipment (Contractor)
Location: Remote (Work from Home) with occasional travel to Bruce Power, Tiverton, ON
Engagement Type: Contract

Position Overview

Bruce Power is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in rotating equipment to provide specialized technical guidance on pumps, motors, and related components. This role is designed for a highly seasoned professional with extensive industry experience who can offer deep technical insights to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Bruce Power facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert consultation on rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, auxiliary systems).

  • Advise on performance, reliability, and maintenance strategies for critical components.

  • Assist with troubleshooting, equipment assessments, and recommendations for repairs or replacements.

  • Support engineering and maintenance teams in resolving complex technical issues.

  • Participate in technical reviews, meetings, and evaluations as required.

  • Travel to Bruce Power site(s) occasionally for in-person support and collaboration.

Qualifications
  • Extensive career experience (20+ years preferred) working with rotating equipment in industrial or power generation settings.

  • Recognized subject matter expertise in pumps, motors, and associated systems.

  • Strong background in equipment design, operation, reliability, and lifecycle management.

  • Proven ability to provide practical, high-level technical advice and mentorship.

  • Experience in the nuclear or power generation industry is an asset.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and advisory skills.

  • Ideal for semi-retired or late-career professionals interested in consulting work.
