The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Structural Engineering Student for 4-8 months to join our team in the Dartmouth office. Reporting to the Structural Engineering Manager, the student will assist in project delivery of design and construction review in the Buildings sector.

A typical week in the office:
  • Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, you will collaborate with Engineers and Designers to design, model and coordinate the various structural systems using the various software and existing tools.

  • You will be involved in quantity estimates and construction review, including site visits.

  • Reviewing shop drawings and change orders during constructions, as well as producing site visit reports.

  • Participating in regular design meetings, internal with the team, as well as with clients and construction site meetings.

We would like to know more about you, if you have the following qualifications:
  • You are a student in civil or structural engineering, civil engineering technology or architectural and building sciences technology.

  • Interest in assisting engineers in day-to-day tasks and in participating in project delivery and internal design tools.

  • Interest in the field of engineering consultants.

  • Interest in the construction and buildings sector and site review.

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Sense of initiative and attention to details

  • Driver's licence

  • Working at heights training is a plus

  • To qualify for this role, you must be eligible for Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability clearance. This is a mandatory requirement to work with this client.
