Responsibilities

  • Recruiting your team
  • Training and developing your management team
  • Training and developing your team on brand, product, and service
  • Oversee all aspects of the retail business, including budgets, customer experience, staff experience, and operational excellence
  • Lead your team to continuously improve performance and development
Sales & Customer Experience
  • Customer Service: plan to exceed daily sales goals and provide a unique, inclusive customer experience
  • Brand education: communicate brand values and position on Animal Testing, Freshest Cosmetics, Ethical Buying, 100% Vegetarian, Handmade, and Naked Packaging
  • Product Knowledge: maintain strong knowledge and provide informed recommendations
  • Driving Sales: develop and execute plans aligned with business strategy to achieve short- and long-term goals
Team Leadership
  • Leadership Practices and Staff Development: coach and develop team with development plans and constructive feedback
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging: promote DEIB training and inclusive environment
  • Engagement and Performance: analyze performance and create action plans to improve engagement
  • Recruitment and Selection: form diverse teams and uphold equal opportunity practices
Operational Excellence
  • Policies and Procedures: ensure compliance with training, time and attendance, safety, and budgets
  • Stock and Inventory: manage orders, inventory, and waste within budget
  • Visuals and Merchandising: execute merchandising plans and maintain a clean, consistent customer experience
  • Scheduling, Time, and Attendance: hire appropriate staff for peak times and manage breaks and payroll within budget
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3-5 years managing in a retail environment
  • Strong HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, conflict resolution and performance management
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong customer service, supervisory and sales skills
  • Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends

Preferred:

  • Experience with consultation-based customer service models
  • Ability to train staff through positive coaching and feedback
  • Track record of developing retail staff careers
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages
