Senior Stations Engineer – Contract – Trail, BC (Onsite)

Insight Global is hiring a Senior Stations Engineer to support a portfolio of substation and station projects in Trail, BC. This role involves technical leadership across design, construction support, and field work.

About the Role

You’ll lead engineering activities for substation and station projects, act as Engineer of Record, and oversee both internal and external design work. The role is 80% technical, with a strong focus on design review, owner’s engineering, and ensuring high‑quality, compliant deliverables.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead engineering for station and substation projects
  • Serve as Engineer of Record
  • Review and approve design packages
  • Oversee owner’s engineering for outsourced design partners
  • Support field checks and construction activities
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met
  • Collaborate with Planning, Operations, PM, and engineering teams
Must‑Haves
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of substation/stations engineering in a utility environment
  • P.Eng with EGBC
  • Strong technical background in stations, transmission, distribution, and substation design
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, Primavera, SharePoint, ETAP or CymeTCC
  • Experience driving projects through full lifecycle
