Build Your Future in Construction

Are you a motivated Grade 12 student interested in exploring a career in civil construction? Join Hall Constructors this Spring Break and experience real work on active construction sites while earning paid industry experience.

Our Interns will gain exposure to civil construction, mechanical (plumbing) trades, heavy duty mechanics, learn foundational safety practices, and participate in Hall’s industry-leading competency-based training program.

Core Responsibilities

Students participating in the program will be expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled workdays and arrive on time
  • Follow direction from supervisors and designated mentors
  • Demonstrate safe work practices at all times
  • Participate in safety orientations, toolbox talks, and daily site check-ins
  • Learn and apply the basics of construction through supervised tasks
  • Observe and assist with activities such as spotting, site organization, and material handling
  • Complete required training modules, including:
    • Green Hard Hat Program – Basics of Civil Construction
    • WHMIS 2015
    • Ground Disturbance Awareness
    • Mobile Equipment Awareness
    • Spotting & Site Safety
    • Safety documentation including PSAs

Note: Interns will not perform any task without direct instruction and supervision.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in Grade 12
  • Interest in civil construction, Mechanical (plumbing) trades, heavy duty mechanics or related fields
  • Ability to commit to 80 paid hours between March 17–28, 2025
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites
  • Ability to follow supervisor instruction clearlyReliable transportation to and from project locations across the Lower Mainland
  • CSA-certified steel-toed boots
  • Work-appropriate clothing
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Considered an asset (not required)
  • Previous shop, trades, or hands-on work experience
  • Participation in school trades programs or work experience classes
