Job summary

A pediatric therapy center in Delta is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to enhance the development of children with special needs. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, develop remedial program plans, and provide education to parents regarding treatment strategies. A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a license from the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC are required. Competitive compensation at $47.44 per hour, plus benefits including extended health coverage and vacation pay.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • License to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC necessary.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Work with children with special needs to enhance their development.
  • Assess strengths and needs of referred children.
  • Develop remedial program plans in collaboration with parents.
  • Provide education on treatment strategies to parents.
  • Consult with team members and community partners.
  • Re-evaluate child’s progress and update programs.

Symbiosis Pediatric Therapy Inc. is a Pediatric Therapy Centre. We provide Behavior consultancy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy interventions to children with special needs. We strive to enhance the lives of children so they can play and learn at par with their peers. We have openings for Speech‑Language Pathologist.

Position Details
  • Number of Positions: 2
  • Work Location: Unit #203 8435 120 St Delta BC V4C6R2
  • Job Type: Full time, permanent position with 37.50 hours per week.
  • Compensation: $47.44 per hour. Overtime at the rate of 1.5 times after 8 hours per day/40 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team with children with special needs, their families and caregivers to identify and develop activities which will enhance the child’s development and functional communication skills.
  • Assesses strengths and needs of children referred through formal and/or informal assessments;
  • Develop and implement a remedial program plan for each child in conjunction with parents and other professionals;
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to child/parents and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Consultation with other team members and community partners regarding the child’s program;
  • Re‑evaluate the child’s progress at regular intervals and update child’s program as necessary.
  • Conduct research on speech and other communication disorders and on the development and design of diagnostic procedures and devices.
Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology
  • License to work as a Speech‑Language Pathologist from the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
  • Required language: English
