Job description

This position offers a full-time training opportunity (theory and practicum) designed to prepare staff to work in a specific Island Health specialty department. Upon successful completion, staff will be placed into a regular full-time rotation within the specialty department for which they have been trained.

Note: There is an 18-month return of service requirement as a regular/permanent employee within the Island Health specialty department. Staff may transfer between departments within that specialty. The position reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Recent related medical and/or surgical experience.
• Upon completing this specialty training, employees will be transitioned into a regular position within the respective department.

The hours of work, including days off and work area, may change based on operational requirements and applicable agreements and statutes.
