Job description

The Senior Analyst, Trust Accounting & Controls will report to the Manager, Trust Accounting & Controls. The primary responsibilities of the incumbent are to record detailed cash journal entries, perform various reconciliations / controls for Mutual Fund Trust cash movement and GRS stock plan products. The control reviews will be to identify issues / accuracy as well as to work with senior staff in propose operational efficiencies and support internal partners.

Core Functions
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations from low to medium complexity; requires technical awareness of internal system such as the General Ledger and Administration platforms.
  • Perform monthly dividend and asset reconciliations for Stock Plans; requires technical awareness of internal systems such as MPS and custody platforms.
  • Applies accounting and internal control processes through the monitoring and clearing of suspense accounts, and identifies and resolves issues
  • Analyzes daily outstanding items and resolves routine errors in a timely manner, escalating non-routine errors to manager as vital. Contact internal partners to make sure issues are resolved and provide support through correction process.
  • Prepare and process detailed journal entries; prepare backup information and analysis of accounting entries.
  • Provide support to others within the Trust Accounting Services teams to ensure adequate coverage on all tasks, as advised
  • Prepare the funding for various bank accounts to cover the cash movement for related expenses and investment allocation through treasury management platform.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Fund Accounting or Accounting Firms.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel (advanced)
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Controls and reporting experience an asset
  • Operational background or understanding of operational environment, an asset
  • Knowledge of Retail Wealth Management products (Mutual Funds, Segregated Funds) and admin systems (Lawson, IFast, MPS) would be an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

57,675.00 CAD - $96,125.00 CAD
