Job Description

The Logistics Specialist is an integral position within the Logistic department. The scope of the Specialist holds oversight on planning and execution for a category, process, or function with a 1-month view. Our inland fluidity and asset velocity are at the grassroots of customer experience and cost efficiency. Through a specialized focus on the movement of our equipment, on the import and export cycles, this role will support the overall success.

Level of Responsibility

Enhanced task complexity and accountability to customer. Enhanced autonomy in role, contributing significantly to team/organizational projects. Accountable for accuracy and efficiency in assigned tasks. Starting to mentor junior staff.

Key Tasks
  • Oversight into the data integrity of our intermodal costs.
  • Regular maintenance on the Geneva HQ reporting requirements.
  • Execution & tracking on the Logistics auditing program.
  • Responsibility to provide analysis on weekly and monthly trends related to cost management.
  • Root cause analysis on P&L deviations.
  • Ensure intermodal manifested revenue on the import and export cycles are compliant.
  • Key point of contact for the defined focus and hold accountability on the efficient execution.
  • Direct and provide support to improve the overall output through process improvement and cross department communications.
  • Develop, monitor, and drive an outcome from the defined KPIs.
  • Assume ownership of the specified focus to drive a positive outcome.
  • Support on all equipment related functions: dwell management, inventory accuracy, equipment release, maintenance and repair.
  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholder to support asset velocity.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added or modified to meet changing business requirements.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain considered an asset).
  • 5+ years of experience in a logistics, supply chain or transportation function.
  • Strong working knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel functions, with an ability to expand capabilities.
  • Strong analytical & communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (French & English) required.
