Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. As the second-in-command to the Executive Kitchen Manager, the Sous Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the production of high-quality, flavorful dishes while maintaining seamless kitchen operations. This role involves supervising and supporting kitchen staff, upholding food standards, and collaborating with the Executive Chef to drive culinary excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all employees adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Assign and oversee daily prep lists, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Approve and verify fridge and freezer counts, delegating tasks as needed.
  • Review and process weekly orders, updating the Kitchen Manager accordingly.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings with management and event planners to prepare for upcoming events and create action plans.
  • Set up the line for success at the start of each shift, fostering an organized and efficient environment.
  • Supervise opening and closing duties to maintain a clean and functional kitchen.
  • Complete daily clipboard tasks, ensuring food quality meets SmoQue N Bones' standards.
  • Communicate concerns effectively and proactively address challenges.
  • Foster a positive team culture and promote high performance.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1 year of management experience and 5 years of cooking experience (preferred).

Certifications: Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or equivalent certification (preferred).

Availability: Able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

Skills: Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence.
