Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to join our Civil 3D development team that focus on building a new suite of features that drive customer efficiency and effectiveness. This role is hybrid in Toronto Canada coming into the office 3x a week.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software developers. Provide clear guidance, regular feedback, and support career growth
  • Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of features, components, and cloud services, ensuring technical excellence
  • Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop release plans that deliver meaningful customer value
  • Formulate and execute long-term strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Champion best practices in engineering, including code quality, testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Foster trust and effective collaboration with globally distributed teams, including DevOps, to ensure seamless product delivery
  • Advocate for end-users by ensuring the team’s output meets high standards for performance and usability
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a technical lead in large-scale software development, with successful completion of multiple full development cycles
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline design, and test automation
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of making impactful technical decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills, with experience working in scaled Scrum teams and driving cross-team progress
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background or education in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
  • Experience with cloud services and web technologies
  • Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite)
  • Practical experience with AI technologies, frameworks, or platforms
  • Experience with test-driven development and behavior-driven development is a plus

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $136,000 and $187,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
