Social Media Video Editor (Direct Response Advertising)

We are a fast-growing e-commerce brand looking for a highly skilled Social Media Video Editor who specializes in direct response advertising. Our ideal candidate doesn’t just make visually appealing videos—they understand marketing psychology and advertising frameworks that drive real sales.

We’re looking for someone who has experience crafting high-converting video ads for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest. You should be a pro at developing strong hooks, engaging storytelling, and using frameworks like AIDA and PAS, to create scroll-stopping content that gets users to take action.

Responsibilities
  • Edit and produce high-converting video ads optimized for paid social media campaigns.
  • Develop engaging hooks and structures that immediately capture attention and retain viewers.
  • Apply proven ad frameworks like AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action), PAS (Problem, Agitate, Solution), and others to structure compelling ad creatives.
  • Create multiple variations of ads to test and iterate for maximum performance.
  • Work with the marketing team to analyze ad performance and adjust creative strategies accordingly.
  • Incorporate compelling captions, motion graphics, and call-to-actions to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices to ensure our ads remain competitive.
  • Optimize video formats, durations, and aspect ratios for different platforms (9 : 16 for TikTok, 16 : 9 for YouTube, 4 : 5 for Facebook, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Proven experience creating high-converting video ads for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • A strong understanding of direct response marketing and what makes people buy.
  • Knowledge of advertising frameworks (AIDA, PAS, Hook-Story-Offer, etc.).
  • Experience testing and optimizing ad creatives based on performance data.
  • Ability to write compelling ad scripts and structure videos that drive action.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar).
  • Experience with motion graphics, text overlays, and captions to enhance storytelling.
  • A keen eye for trends in short-form content and ad creative styles that perform best.
  • A portfolio of real-world video ads that have generated measurable results (sales, leads, conversions).
  • Experience with UGC-style ad editing.
  • Background in performance marketing or paid media.
  • Understanding of DTC (direct-to-consumer) brands and e-commerce marketing.
