Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and coordinate shipping, receiving and warehouse personnel to meet operational goals.
• Oversee the loading, unloading, inspection and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Verify the accuracy of shipments, bills of lading, packing slips and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements and transportation regulations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
• Work closely with production, purchasing and customer service to support on-time deliveries.
• Select and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders and courier services.
• Train and mentor team members on proper material handling, safety practices and company procedures.
• Investigate and resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies or damage claims.
• Enforce workplace health, safety and housekeeping standards in the warehouse.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare and maintain performance reports on shipping accuracy, turnaround times and carrier performance.
• Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.

Educational Requirements

Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of freight carriers, logistics documentation and customs processes (if applicable).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse management software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate and manage a team.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (license/certification may be required).
• Valid G driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Equipment / Tools / Technology Used

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand, bend and move for extended periods.
