SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Repair, replace & rebuild aircraft structures (wings and fuselage) of varying degrees of difficulty, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment (shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills);
- Apply expertise in conducting structural repairs & modifications and solve moderate to complex problems;
- Read and interpret manufacturers' & airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine repair or replacement methods;
- Perform damage assessment for engineering purposes;
- Work closely with the team leader to ensure timely completion of tasks;
- Ensure work complies with Skyservice's quality standards, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations (Transport Canada);
- Order parts and supplies;
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe components.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Valid Transport Canada S license is an asset;
- Five (5) years of experience as a sheet metal worker;
- Experience related to aircraft is an asset;
- Valid AVOP (D/A or D) and radio license;
- M license considered an asset;
- Knowledge of operating welding and brazing equipment is an asset;
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly to change, and work flexible shifts;
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
EDUCATION :
- Completed Structure or Sheet Metal program or equivalent.
