Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District

Salary Or Wage: $17.85 to $18.00 per hour

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Type: Part or Full Time

List of Requirements
  • Serving It Right certification
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • High school diploma
  • Experience: 2+ years in retail sales, food and beverage service, or hospitality is an asset.
  • Customer Service Savvy: Exceptional communication skills, friendly demeanor, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Technical Know-How: Comfortable using a POS system, basic computer programs, internet, and email.
  • Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions, and learn on the job quickly.
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, carry, and switch kegs throughout your shift.
  • Comfortable working in moderate to high noise levels, occasionally climbing stairs, and handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
List of Duties
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Greet and serve guests with a positive, friendly attitude, ensuring they have an enjoyable experience.
  • Beverage Service: Provide knowledgeable beer, wine, and beverage service, including switching out kegs and keeping the bar area running smoothly.
  • Point of Sale Operations: Handle cash and credit transactions, manage daily shift cash-outs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a Clean & Welcoming Space: Keep tables, surfaces, and bar areas tidy; sanitize glassware; and ensure the pub/alley stays organized and inviting.
  • Reservations & Event Coordination: Answer phones, respond to messages, book reservations, and assist with special event scheduling as needed.
  • Inventory & Stocking: Monitor glassware and other supplies, informing management when replenishment is needed.
  • Team Engagement: Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and maintain a positive working environment.
