Series Lead is charged with the planning of the work for an entire series. They are accountable to assure that the series is planned and that the technical and process requirements are well understood and documented by construction. They are a person of significant experience who has done the work in their series before.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Project Critical Construction Inspection & Test Plans (CITPs) to inspect CANDU reactor headers for feeder refurbishment.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of Comprehensive Work Packages for Feeder Replacement Project.
  • Assist in feeder baseline visual inspection for new build or refurbished CANDU reactors as per CSA N285.4 Clause 13.3.2.1 & 13.3.2.2.
  • Perform risk assessment and develop execution strategy to detect system leaks (D2O) using ultra sonic equipment on reactor face.
  • Generate contingency execution plan to perform in-service feeder hub refurbishment under Primary Heat Transport (PHT) system D2O filled state using Nitrogen Ice Plug Channel Isolation Technique.
  • Coordinate with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) Plant Operations and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) field inspectors to perform Hydro Static Pressure Test and generate valid test reports to meet the requirements of CSA N285.
  • Plan and execute project series inspections for Permanent Plant Components such as Seismic dampers, Header Whip Restraints & Hanger assembly components.
  • Support project in executing Containment isolation/ Return-To-Service pressure test for refurbishment reactor unit.
  • Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and resident engineering for problem resolution and information flow.
  • Coordinate feeder related procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, material tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field.
  • Assist construction team and subcontractors to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as-built drawings, turnover documents etc.
  • Provides status report of feeder project milestones and adjustment to schedules as required.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at overall continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Civil or Nuclear discipline from an accredited university is required.
  • Post Graduate diploma in Construction Project Management from recognized Canadian institution is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in CANDU Containment Isolation and Feeder Refurbishment is required.
  • OPG Nuclear Security Site Clearance is an asset.
  • Understanding of CSA N285 & N286, ASME III, CSA B51 and ASME B31.1 & B31.3 is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety programs, hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Knowledge in application of CSA N285.4 periodic inspection programs, and materials science/engineering principles is an asset.
  • Understanding of CANDU Feeders, Support Installation & Hub refurbishment requirements technical specifications is an asset.
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Visio is required.
  • Valid Ontario Drivers licence or equivalent.
