The work is meaningful, the culture is refreshingly humble, and the creativity runs in abundance. Keep reading if this sounds like home!

About The Company

TrailerWorks is a Toronto-based creative production agency composed of a small team of experts who take pride in their craft, respect each other’s time, and genuinely enjoy collaborating on thoughtful, high-quality work. Everyone brings something unique to the table, and the structure is intentionally flat - no unnecessary hierarchy, just mutual respect and shared accountability.

Creativity and initiative are not just welcomed - they’re expected. This role operates independently within a small team. You’ll have autonomy over execution, make strategic decisions and support creative direction, which is led by the client or senior leadership.

About You

Team Member Traits

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine love for storytelling through video
  • Client-presentable: personable, respectful, grounded, and aware of the bigger picture
  • Self-motivated and organized - able to stay on top of timelines and communication without being micromanaged
  • Collaborative and humble: egos don’t fly here
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
  • Honest, accountable, and engaged in your work

Abilities & Skills

  • Expertise in full-cycle video production—from ideation and filming to editing and delivery of polished and visually captivating final products
  • Expertise in operating and utilizing advanced videography equipment and professional product tools (i.e. camera, lighting, microphones, lenses, filters, etc) to capture high-quality footage
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, pacing, and storytelling
  • Experience managing and coordinating production logistics, including equipment setup
  • Fully proficient using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, etc
  • Ability to contribute to creative ideation sessions, with a knack for tailoring content to specific audiences (luxury, non-profit, health, etc.)
  • Client-facing experience, ability to communicate professionally, manage client relations, ease on-set anxieties, etc
  • Has a diverse portfolio showcasing diverse video projects, demonstrating versatility and creativity in various styles and genres

Experience

  • Around 7+ years in videography and video editing (flexible if you’re exceptional)
  • Experience producing content across formats—commercial, internal, corporate, social
  • Comfortable interacting with clients (always with a team lead present)
  • Experience working independently or within a small, nimble team

About the Role

You’ll lead video production and editing for a wide variety of projects—ranging from corporate interviews and internal storytelling content to corporate campaigns and non-profit features. You’ll have support from experts across your team, but this role is hands-on and requires full ownership of your work.

Video Content Creation (~30% of the role):

  • Plan and execute high-quality video projects across various industries and formats
  • Repurpose existing assets into compelling video content with voiceovers
  • Collaborate with team leads on concept and delivery

Video Editing (~70% of the role):

  • Fully proficient using video editing software such as Premiere Pro, After Effects and the full Adobe Suite of programs, DaVinci Resolve, etc
  • Edit full pieces yourself, and incorporate work from the intermediate editor as needed
  • Ensure the final product aligns with the client’s brand and goals
  • Ability to produce branded content and contribute to content strategies for Web, Social, traditional media and other common distribution channels

Shoot Coordination & Video Production :

  • Act as your own producer for most shoots: handling setup and working with clients in the studio
  • Manage all technical aspects of shoots: cameras, lighting, set design, etc.
  • Collaborate with clients on-site in a professional and approachable manner

Tech Development & Maintenance :

  • Build efficient, high-quality solutions with what’s available and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain your gear and ensure top-tier production quality

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive salary (exact range to be discussed with qualified candidates)
  • 10 days of vacation per year
  • Plus company-wide shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s
  • Flexible hybrid schedule—work from home when not on shoots or in-person meetings
  • Summer Fridays, wrapping up around 1pm during summer months
  • Full health and dental benefits after the probation period
  • An education reimbursement program to support skill development
  • Autonomy and trust—manage your time and projects without micromanagement
  • Opportunities to lead, shape, and innovate without red tape
