The Role
We are looking for a fully remote Senior UX Designer to lead the complete rebuild of our core B2B contracting and administration platform. We are transitioning a legacy system into a modern, performant application using React, Tailwind, and Shadcn UI.
Your challenge is unique: Our users are experts in contracts and administration, not technology. They manage complex, high-stakes workflows, but they need an interface that feels simple, safe, and intuitive. You will bridge the gap between "powerful functionality" and "ease of use."
Why This Role Matters
Contracting and administration are historically dense, paper-heavy processes. You aren't just digitizing a form; you are orchestrating how our customers manage their business relationships. You will define how our "mid-enterprise" clients interact with the platform for the next 5-10 years, moving them from a legacy experience to a modern, component-driven interface.
What you will focus on first
You will lead the early rebuild of our core platform experiences, starting with navigation and information architecture, then moving into data-heavy reporting and inventory-style workflows, then expanding into core objects (people and documents), the transactional workflows that connect those objects, and finally supporting admin surfaces like settings, activity logs, and audit history.
This role is designed for someone who excels in complex B2B SaaS UX and component-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Workflow Distillation: Take complex, multi-stage contracting lifecycles and distill them into linear, understandable user flows for non-technical users.
- Information Density: Design interfaces that can handle large amounts of data (lists, contract clauses, metadata) without overwhelming the user. You know when to use a table, when to use a card, and how to manage whitespace in a data-heavy B2B environment.
- Error Prevention: Design "guardrails" that prevent non-technical users from making critical errors in the administration process.
Design System & Engineering Collaboration
- Shadcn & Tailwind Implementation: You won't be building a design system from scratch. You will leverage and theme Shadcn UI components and Tailwind CSS. Your job is to apply these constraints creatively to build consistent, developer-friendly designs.
- Developer Hand-off: Work closely with frontend engineers. You understand the "box model" and can design in Figma with auto-layout in a way that translates 1:1 to React components.
- Design QA: Partner with Engineering during implementation to ensure the shipped experience matches design intent, resolving UX edge cases within technical constraints.
Research & Empathy
- User Advocacy: Our users are cross-functional teams, from sales agents and administrators to project stakeholders and executives. They are time-constrained, context-switch constantly, and need to move work forward with minimal training. You will conduct research to understand how each group organizes information, makes decisions, and completes key workflows, then map the UI to match that reality and reduce cognitive load.
- Legacy Migration: Help users transition from the legacy platform to the new system. Identify which workflows are must-haves versus clutter, then design the bridge to the new experience with clear patterns and minimal disruption.
Who You Are
- The Simplifier: You look at a screen with 50 inputs and instinctively know how to group, paginate, or progressively disclose them to make it approachable.
- The Component thinker: You don't just draw rectangles; you think in atoms, molecules, and organisms. You understand how a change to a button in the library affects the whole platform.
- The Pragmatist: You understand the balance between "pixel perfect" and "shipping value." You are comfortable using an existing library (Shadcn) to speed up development rather than reinventing standard patterns.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of Product Design experience, specifically in B2B SaaS or complex enterprise tools.
- Portfolio: Must show examples of workflow design, data tables, dashboards, or form-heavy interfaces.
- Technical Fluency: Strong familiarity with Atomic Design principles and experience designing for React/Tailwind environments. You don't need to code, but you need to know how the code works.
- Domain Experience: Experience in PropTech, LegalTech, HR Tech, ERPs, or Document Management systems is a massive plus.
Tech Stack Context for the Designer
- Design Tool: Figma (Auto-layout mastery required)
- Frontend Framework: React
- Styling/UI Library: Tailwind CSS / Shadcn UI
Please note: this is a fully remote, work-from-home position.
