Overview

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Shuttle Bus Driver is a critical member of the Security team, responsible for the safe, efficient, and punctual transportation of personnel. This role requires exceptional driving skills, a strong commitment to safety and customer service, and the ability to operate independently. In addition to driving duties, the Senior Shuttle Bus Driver will play a key role in coordinating and logging vehicle maintenance, ensuring the fleet remains in optimal operational condition and compliance with all safety regulations. This position often involves adherence to specific security protocols and may include a degree of oversight or mentorship for junior drivers.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate shuttle buses safely on designated routes, adhering to schedules, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Provide courteous service, assisting passengers as needed, and maintaining accurate trip logs.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, immediately reporting any defects.
  • Develop and manage the schedule for routine and preventative maintenance of the assigned shuttle fleet.
  • Coordinate with service providers for vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and fuel consumption for each vehicle.
  • Proactively report vehicle malfunctions and ensure timely resolution, adhering to compliance standards.
  • Strictly follow all company safety protocols, security procedures, and transportation regulations.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities promptly.
  • Ensure the bus is equipped with necessary safety items and maintain a clean vehicle environment.
  • Represent the organization professionally and effectively communicate with management and passengers.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional shuttle bus or commercial driving experience. Experience with maintenance coordination is highly preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid Ontario Class C or F driver's license with an excellent driving record (abstract required).
  • Must possess a valid "Z" (Air Brake) endorsement.
  • Will require a Commerical Vehicle Operators Registration (CVOR)
  • Exceptional driving skills with a strong emphasis on safety and defensive driving.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for pre-trip inspections and identifying vehicle issues.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and logs (manual and/or digital).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules and requirements.
Additional Details

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip inspections, including kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and assist passengers with luggage or mobility aids as needed (within legal limits).
  • Capable of operating a motor vehicle safely under various weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
