Job summary

A regional technology firm in Iqaluit is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major information management and IT initiatives. You will oversee project delivery, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years in relevant project management, preferably with a degree in a related field and certifications such as PMP or Prince 2. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for major IM/IT initiatives such as system implementations, cloud migrations, data platform upgrades, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise application modernization.
  • Develop project charters, detailed work plans, resource strategies, schedules, budgets, and communication plans.
  • Ensure alignment of project solutions with enterprise architecture, information management, privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, including internal resources, contractors, and third-party vendors.
  • Oversee procurement processes including RFPs, SOWs, contract negotiations, and vendor performance management.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies across systems, teams, and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide regular project reporting to leadership, sponsors, and governance bodies including dashboards, status summaries, and escalation recommendations.
  • Guide teams in Agile or hybrid methodologies, facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, or release management as needed.
  • Ensure quality assurance, UAT readiness, and deployment planning are completed successfully.
  • Lead change management activities including communication planning, training coordination, and organizational readiness assessments.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to measure benefits realization, lessons learned, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Budget management
  • Provide high level and detailed reports for all stages of each project that provide traceability throughout the Project
  • Responsible for the overall planning, scheduling and assignment of project tasks associated with the Project resources
  • Reviewing status of deliverables and recommending approval of the deliverables
  • Leadership of a team that may consist of internal department members, client department members and third-party vendors
  • Liaison with third party vendors and developers of applications and programs used by the GN
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of progressive experience in Project Management related to Information Management and Information Technology
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information systems, Engineering or related fields (preferred)
  • Certification such as PMP, Prince 2, PMI-ACP are preferred
  • Certificates such as Scrum Master, or Hybrid/Agile delivery certificates and Prosci (preferred)
  • Cloud or system-specific certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, MS Dynamics, SAP, etc.) -an asset
  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CCSP) depending on project portfolio -an asset
  • Expertise in IM/IT project management, including software development, data platforms, integrations, cloud solutions, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cybersecurity requirements, data governance, and IT service management (ITSM).
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional teams including business SMEs, developers, architects, data specialists, and external vendors.
  • Advanced risk, dependency, and issue management, particularly in highly integrated technical environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level reporting and steering committee presentations.
  • Ability to manage full project financials including budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and contract oversight.
  • Proven track record delivering small, medium, and large or multi-year IM/IT programs and projects using Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities, with capacity to guide teams through ambiguity and change
