Overview

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Project Manager, the responsibilities of the Senior Project Coordinator include:
  • Read technical and administrative project specifications
  • Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards
  • Inform the Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with site management
  • Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent
  • Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting
  • Perform duties related to the cost control cycle throughout the project execution, including tracking budgets and schedules
  • Ensure tracking of hours, expenses, costs, and budget updates
  • Monitor changes and coordinate with the project team
  • Record and resolve issues related to project budgets and schedules
  • Tabulate and format information into the client format for submission
  • Ensure the quality of prepared project reports, executive summaries, and dashboards
  • Perform duties related to document control, including formatting documentation and maintaining records according to cloud-based filing system
  • Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts
  • Organize and participate in various meetings
  • Establish and maintain necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals, and clients
  • Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or similar, or a combination of technical training and related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Experience in contracting industry (heavy civil preferred)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities
  • Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Experience with cost analysis, control, and reporting
  • Commercial knowledge and experience with contracts is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism is an asset, but proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required

Related Experience

Related work experience of 3-5 years in a construction supervision role, working on heavy civil construction projects; Experience in earthworks and concrete structures is a must. Proven skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem solving; Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work; Knowledge of office management systems and administrative procedures; Basic math, accounting, and finance skills; Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task; Leadership and autonomy; Strong attention to detail; Negotiation; Ability to act quickly and efficiently; Excellent communication skills; Results driven and quality oriented; Responsible and honest.
