Overview

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is one of Canada’s leading business law firms with offices in Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary and New York. The successful candidate will reside in Vancouver, Toronto, or the surrounding areas and work in a hybrid arrangement with primary in-office work and up to two remote days per week.

Major Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Business Analytics team and Client Billing Services teams on creation of reports on billing and collection activity as well as overall financial performance of the practice group
  • Collaborate with the firm’s Business Analytics and Pricing Management teams to analyze project staffing for various legal projects including financing and M&A transactions to enable future budgeting and increased financial performance
  • Collaborate with the firm’s Business Analytics team and Pricing Management teams to assist with national transactional analysis projects
  • Assist legal professionals with building, maintaining, and auditing detailed capitalization tables (priced rounds, convertible notes, SAFEs, stock options, RSUs, and secondary sales)
  • Develop pro forma models, liquidation waterfalls, option vesting schedules and other transaction-specific tools
  • Provide financial insight and equity data to support venture financings, acquisitions, and internal diligence
  • Assist legal professionals with the equity aspects of private financings, including preparing supporting documentation and scenario planning
Position Requirements
Education and Experience

This position requires a university degree, preferably in commerce or finance, plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience. An applicant working towards a finance-related certification is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.
