Overview

Role and Location

The ideal Senior Manager is highly structured and process-driven, with strong analytical and computer skills. Capable of transforming complex information into clear, actionable insights for leadership, communicating effectively by summarizing strategies while addressing detailed operational nuances, and proactively identifying process improvements, tracking outcomes, and ensuring changes are communicated. Consistently prioritizes initiatives and manages multiple high-impact projects, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build credibility without direct reporting authority. This role reports to the FP&A Director and is based at our Delta, BC facility, with occasional travel to our downtown Vancouver office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership and support decisions with detailed analysis, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and continuously improve operational KPIs and reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely insights across production stages and facilities.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements within FP&A and cross-functional operations, ensuring changes are properly communicated to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead scenario analysis and what-if modeling to evaluate the financial impact of operational changes, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Standard Costs for the budgeting cycle, ensuring alignment with operational assumptions and financial accuracy.
  • Partner with Cost Accounting to align on cost assumptions, inventory valuation impacts, and standard cost updates.
  • Lead the performance analysis for Cultivation, Operations, and Supply Chain budgets, including COGS, production overhead, and capacity planning.
  • Drive financial evaluation and tracking of capital expenditure projects, ensuring ROI analysis, project justification, and post-implementation performance review.
  • Partner with Supply Chain planning, ensuring S&OP forecasts are aligned with financial expectations and strategic decisions.
  • Prioritize initiatives effectively, ensuring focus on high-impact areas and maintaining clear communication of priorities with leadership and teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10 years of progressive experience in Finance or FP&A, ideally in cannabis or multinational CPG
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and complex formulas; experience with databases or ERP systems such as Dynamics 365, Oracle, or SAP is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with solid knowledge of financial statements and variance analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High sense of urgency and accountability
  • Self-starter who identifies issues and operates independently
  • Creative problem solver with a track record of process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective with stakeholders at all levels
