What You’ll Do
- Lead Maintenance Operations: Oversee and perform hands‑on maintenance, including boiler plant operations, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system repairs, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Ensure Tenant Satisfaction: Respond promptly to tenant complaints and improvement requests, delivering high‑quality service with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Drive Property Upkeep: Collaborate with management on capital projects, seasonal exterior maintenance, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Maintain Excellence: Keep accurate maintenance logs and ensure all building systems meet safety standards and territorial codes.
- Mentor and Guide: Support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient maintenance team.
Who You Are
- Experienced: 7+ years in property or building maintenance, or completion of a trades program.Power Engineering – Class 4 certificationis required.
- Skilled: Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Proactive: A problem‑solver who takes initiative and thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Resilient: Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs) and adaptable to the demands of a northern, remote setting.
- Collaborative: Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with tenants, colleagues, and management.
- Northern Ready: Experience in remote or northern environments is a strong asset, but a passion for embracing Iqaluit’s unique lifestyle is key.
