Senior Human Resources Consultant

SIEL Human Solutions is a HR Consulting firm offering strategic customized end to end solutions.

Our company is seeking a Part Time Senior Human Resources Consultant. This can be a contract or permanent position.

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior HR Consultant will be responsible for providing support to our clients located across the province of Saskatchewan, with a focus working with clients in Saskatoon. In this role, you may work remotely but may be required to work on site with staff and management on a variety of HR projects ranging from the development of HR policies/procedures, job descriptions, recruitment and selection; compensation, performance management; training and development and ad hoc projects as determined by the client.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute client projects across a variety of HR disciplines, ensuring alignment with company standards and timelines.
  • Advise clients on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations matters for clients, including accommodations, leave of absence requests, absenteeism, disputes, and performance management (including terminations).
  • Prepare high-quality documentation, ensuring accuracy prior to client submission.
  • Provide responsive and practical support to clients navigating complex employee relations and compliance matters.
  • Assist clients in building HR best practices that are tailored to their culture and operational needs.
  • Work closely with colleagues across SIEL Human Solutions to ensure consistency in client service delivery and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements and participate in regular team development activities.
  • Facilitate and make recommendations for new human resources programs and changes as needed.
  • Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with client on site and virtually, and acts as a liaison between management and staff to help build strong relationships and trust.
  • Additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in Human Resource Management from an accredited Canadian university.
  • HR certification is an asset.
  • 20+ years of demonstrated experience in human resources handling complex HR issues in a consulting or client-facing capacity.
  • Project management experience is a must.
  • Experience in different industries is an asset, but preference will be given to candidates in the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to work onsite with clients in Saskatoon.
  • Knowledge of HR policies/procedures related to recruitment and selection; compensation and performance management; training and development and applicable labor standards and employment law.
  • Proven success in delivering strategic HR solutions.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Office applications, ATS and HRIS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly professional and able to represent SIEL Human Solutions internally and externally to the organization.
  • Ability to work with private and confidential documents.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and projects for clients.
  • Ability to raise issues pro-actively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to make decisions, exercise judgment and take initiative in dealing with confidential information and/or in responding to inquiries.
  • Superior interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Solutions-oriented, coachable, and committed to continuous learning.
