We’re looking for a highly skilled senior level designer who finds inspiration everywhere and can help us level up our client work while mentoring younger designers from our team. The ideal candidate will have one or more parallel skills (e.g. pattern making, brush making, mastery of textures, second language, web design skills, font making experience, art direction, etc.) and will have or be willing to acquire a certificate in accessibility as Beacon adheres to minimum accessibility standards.

- An exceptional portfolio that oozes quality and attention to detail
- A mind bending understanding of InDesign and avid use of all its wonderful style functions (including object styles)
- Ability to manipulate photos and create composites in Photoshop
- Ability to create logos, badges, and icons in Adobe Illustrator
- A willingness to keep up with the latest software capabilities
- Experience working in WordPress and/or SquareSpace
- Basic understanding of CSS

- You pride yourself on excellent communication. You use appropriate channels for the situation at hand, add professional humour as called for, type quickly, and speak with confidence and humility. You respond to messages thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- You are a team player, willing to support when needed and open to feedback. You know that everybody is after the same thing: deliverables that create results for the client.
- You love design so much. You are always looking to improve, both in your ability to ideate and use the software. You express an enthusiasm for design as a communication device and drive to exceed expectations.
- You nerd out over an organized workflow. Your friends would vote you the most organized person in the room. You are willing to adopt new systems of work as required (ie. time tracking tools, research methods, naming conventions, etc.) because you know it will dial things in for the company and your job.
