Job Description

ADGA is looking to hire a Senior Data Management Infrastructure Specialist to provide the services of an experienced professional with managed data center environments to deliver systems/software engineering services for the special purpose of communications, end-to-end systems development, to support facilities, and to provide operational support for users of developed systems.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and securing virtualized environments using VMware vSphere/ESXi (7.0/8.0+)
  • Administering Windows and Linux-based enterprise servers
  • Managing Active Directory, including domain controller configuration, GPOs, and RBAC
  • Supporting enterprise storage systems (NetApp FAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
  • Implementing and maintaining backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure components across OS, network, storage, and virtualization layers
  • Supporting patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation activities
  • Contributing to system architecture planning, technical documentation, and compliance efforts
Qualifications
  • A degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution (university, college – minimum 3 years) in an Engineering or Technology faculty; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in an IT systems administrator role, and 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in evaluation, configuration, customization, and integration of hardware and networks. This includes experience with:
    • Server Operating Systems
    • Virtual server technologies (e.g., VMware 7.0/8.0, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Cisco UCS)
    • Desktop machines and/or servers
  • A minimum of 8 years of recent experience analyzing and troubleshooting Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SSL, DNS, L2TP, PPPoE) specifically within virtualized or software‑defined data center networks such as VMware vSphere, NSX, or vDS environments. This includes root‑cause analysis, packet tracing, protocol‑level diagnostics, and resolving performance or connectivity issues in multi‑tenant or segmented environments.
  • A minimum of 8 years of recent experience designing, building, hardening, and maintaining enterprise‑grade VMware virtualized environments. This includes architecting secure ESXi or vSphere infrastructure, segmentation, access control, patching, and scalability. Also include scripting/automation experience using tools like PowerCLI, Bash, Python, or PowerShell for provisioning, monitoring, compliance, or lifecycle operations.
  • A minimum of 8 years of recent experience configuring, administering, and architecting Linux/Unix and Microsoft Server operating systems in enterprise or virtualized environments. Includes patching, Group Policy, AD integration, access control, auditing, and enforcing security baselines (e.g., CIS/STIG). Mixed‑OS or compliance‑heavy experience is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years of recent experience configuring, hardening, and supporting enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp FAS), managing volumes, snapshots, replication, and integrating with VMware. Also include technical/admin support for iSCSI or Fibre Channel fabrics (zoning, multipathing, performance tuning).
  • A minimum of 8 years of recent experience managing Active Directory (OU design, DC config, replication, GPOs, RBAC) and backup/recovery tools like Veeam, Commvault, or NetBackup. Should include backup policy design, restore testing, and VMware integration for DR readiness.
  • Currently have or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance
