Overview

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER (Data Modeling Snowflake/dbt/ETL)

Permanent | GTA/REMOTE, ON | February 14, 2025

We are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our Client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines for customers. They will work closely with project managers, business analysts, and testers to deliver best-in-class data analytics solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data engineers
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of ELT pipelines on Snowflake
  • Collaborates with different stakeholders to understand business requirements
  • Implement data engineering best practices within your designated agile pod
  • Creates a library of reusable templates in dbt
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for data analytics best practices
  • Participates in discovery and requirements gathering discussions as a technical subject matter expert
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with dbt and Snowflake (or similar)
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices
Required Knowledge
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes
  • Deep knowledge of the modern analytics stack
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in similar role
  • Experience working in a software development environment
