Job Summary
The Senior Data Analyst will support the Data Platform team in designing, documenting, and validating enterprise‑scale data solutions that enable secure, reliable, and scalable cloud and data infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high‑quality data mapping, governance, and analytics across complex data ecosystems supporting enterprise and customer‑facing solutions. You will work across platforms such as Azure, Databricks, data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and analytics tools, collaborating closely with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted data assets at scale.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Data Mapping & Documentation
- Lead detailed data mapping activities across source systems, data platforms, and target destinations.
- Document field‑level mappings, transformation rules, data lineage, and business logic.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data standards, governance policies, and architectural patterns.
- Maintain clear, version‑controlled mapping specifications for engineering teams.
- Analyze and profile datasets to identify data structures, quality issues, relationships, and anomalies.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and risks during migration or integration initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with data engineers, architects, business analysts, product owners, and SMEs to gather requirements.
- Translate business definitions into precise technical documentation.
- Facilitate workshops to resolve data ambiguities and align on mapping and transformation decisions.
Data Quality & Validation
- Support testing teams by defining validation rules and expected transformation outputs.
- Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to enhance data integrity, metadata accuracy, and documentation quality.
Reporting & Insights
- Build dashboards, reports, and analytics to support business needs.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to self‑service analytics capabilities and standardized reporting frameworks.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in:
- Data Mapping & Documentation
- Data Quality & Validation
- Azure‑based data environments
- Strong experience with data mapping, data modeling, and/or data migration initiatives.
- SQL (intermediate to advanced proficiency).
- Experience with data analysis and profiling techniques.
- Proficiency with Excel or similar analytical tools.
- Experience with Power BI or comparable data visualization tools.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, structured data, and data integration patterns.
- Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate data transformation logic.
Preferred / Additional
- Experience working within large enterprise or financial services environments.
- Exposure to Databricks, ETL pipelines, and cloud‑based data platforms.
