Overview

In Valuations you will combine technical knowledge with real-life practical experience to provide advisory services as they pertain to value and put forward valuations of businesses, business interests, and/or intangible assets.

Working as part of the team, you will acquire the skills and expertise to meet the challenging dynamics of business valuation across a breadth of contexts, be it financial reporting, tax compliance, litigation support, shareholder negotiations, internal planning, and financial modeling.

You will also get exposure to projects involving businesses of varying sizes and operating in a wide range of industries, allowing you to gain valuable experience while building your professional network, business acumen, and working toward the prestigious Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation.

What you will do
  • Assist in performing valuation assignments in support of transactions, financial reporting, and other services across a wide range of industries
  • Manage multiple engagements and successfully complete client deliverables on a timely basis
  • Review business plans, financial statements, agreements, board packages, financial models
  • Prepare financial models, apply valuation methodologies in a meaningful way and perform financial analyses utilizing tools such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ
  • Conduct industry and economic research
  • Prepare, review and edit reports, analyses and memorandums with a focus on continuous improvement and use of the latest available tools
  • Collaborate in a positive team environment where learning and sharing ideas are encouraged
  • Build your professional network and business acumen while working toward the CBV designation
What you bring to the role
  • CPA qualification or on track to achieve, with 3+ years of relevant post-grad work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant field
  • Enrolled, or planning to enroll, in the CBV program, with a strong interest in obtaining the CBV designation
  • Technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or other accounting standards and fair value issues arising therein
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally
  • Ability to quickly build effective working relationships and collaborate across teams
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where projects vary
  • Reliable and committed to meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and professionalism in all interactions
