The Role

With an extensive pipeline of upcoming works, we are seeking applications from mid to senior level Civil Engineers to join our Perth-based team. The role offers you the ability to grow your career, with a strong technical team around you offering support and mentoring.

Reporting to the Principal Engineers, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the planning and design activities to ensure that a high standard of quality is achieved for the assigned project. The Engineer is also responsible for providing technical input to project teams to ensure that technical standards and efficiencies are achieved and that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Engineering with either Geotechnical or Civil specialisations, have worked within the mining industry, and will be experienced in :

  • Design, construction and operation phases of tailings management;
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D design of mine infrastructure;
  • Mine site water balance modelling, including tailing storage facilities;
  • Geotechnical design of earth fill dams;
  • Quantity calculations and preparation of bills of quantities;
  • Technical writing;
  • Preparation of contract documents, including technical specifications and drawings;
  • General surface water management design.
To be successful in the role you will need :
  • Previous experience as an Engineer of Record or Deputy Engineer of Record for tailings storage facilities.
  • Well‑developed computer skills, particularly engineering related and office automation packages.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Mining / tailings management experience essential.
  • Surface water management experience preferred.
  • A good analytical and problem‑solving mind.
  • A willingness to work as an integral part of the team and to both teach and learn to strengthen the team.
  • Commitment to travel interstate and internationally when required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Chartership with Engineers Australia or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant applied experience.
