Job Title: Senior Business Change/IT Project Manager

The IT Project Manager Level 2 is accountable for the successful completion of medium-risk IT projects or the IT component of business projects, ensuring safety, quality, budget adherence, and timeliness by leading project teams and applying project management principles.

Experience and Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams to successful completion by mobilizing resources, tailoring delivery methodologies, preparing gate reviews, and ensuring project readiness using creativity, flexibility, and effective time and priority management to support business objectives.
  • Plan, direct, and report on IT projects or IT components of business projects, monitoring benefits, resources, and status, and creating project documentation such as charters, management plans, schedules, risk logs, financial reports, and completion reports.
  • Execute project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting, utilizing analytical thinking, coaching, negotiation, presentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills to meet business needs.
  • Proactively manage project schedules, handle changes, escalate issues, and modify plans as needed to ensure projects are completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery, including vendor team management to promote technology awareness and utilization across the organization.
  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships through regular reporting and communication, leveraging excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for timely project progression.

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 9 years of project management experience.
  • Experience as a Project Manager for business process analysis and improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of change management principles.
  • Creative in planning, progress tracking, and reporting to support program objectives.
  • Process-oriented with experience supporting large-scale change initiatives.
  • Preferred: IT knowledge with SAP and Data/Business Warehouse.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Experience in the public sector or utilities is an asset.
  • Strong experience with systems/software development lifecycle and IT project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Initial contract of 1 year with potential extension. WFH setup initially, then based in Edmonds.
