Qualifications

  • Have a CPA certification.

A senior associate, transactions will provide you an opportunity to:

  • Work with a team of professionals, including transactions experts, across Canada who assist individuals and businesses with a wide range of accounting and financial services

Responsibilities
  • Assistance with the planning and preparation of valuations engagements to support a wide range of purposes, such as: shareholder planning, management buy‑outs, shareholder disputes, litigation support, fairness opinions, purchase price allocations and goodwill impairment
  • Supporting in the execution of sell‑side and buy‑side engagements for privately‑owned and investor‑backed companies in the middle market
  • Assisting with the preparation of complex financial models for the purposes of sourcing and obtaining financing support, forecasting future business operations, and projecting potential shareholder returns, deal feasibility, and indicative valuation and structuring terms
  • Conduct detailed industry research relating to the preparation of business valuations, due diligence and mergers and acquisitions engagements
  • Assistance in the preparation of confidential information memorandums (CIM) and other transaction related documentation including buyers lists, confidentiality agreements and compiling and managing electronic data rooms
  • Analyzing and interpreting clients’ financial and non‑financial information
  • Responsibility for executing and handling detailed tasks on engagements
  • Support and assistance as part of a team assisting clients with aspects of the purchase and sale of a business
  • Participating in various business development initiatives (internal and external) including industry research and drafting of proposals, identifying potential prospects, as well as attending various business development events in the deals / corporate finance / professional community
  • Being a key part of our team, supporting with all aspects of corporate finance related engagements, as needed

Qualifications
  • Have a CPA certification
  • Be enrolled in, or have an interest in pursuing, a specialist designation (i.e. Chartered Business Valuator)
  • 1-3 years of experience in public practice and transactions experience is an asset
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication
  • Have strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Have a proven ability to be a strong team player and helping those around them improve
  • Be willing and interested in business development and attending and networking activities
