Overview

Reporting to the Director, Operations Asset Management, the Senior Analyst, Asset Management is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of key performance metrics and analytical models for Centurion Asset Management Inc.

Responsibilities
Relationship Development

Develop and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Third‑Party Appraisers, Consultants, Mortgage Brokers, Lenders and Lawyers.

Fair Value

Work closely with the Director, Operations Asset Management, Third‑Party Appraisers and internal departments to conduct the quarterly fair value calculation for each fund. Verify abnormal variances and identify non‑recurring incidences to produce a normalized income for the fair value calculation. Assist with the preparation of the quarterly fair value variance spreadsheet for Management review. Develop calculation models for fair value as needed. Ensure that all deadlines and critical dates are met.

Investment Analysis and Financial Modeling

Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the business analytics platform. Monitor trends for business insights and key performance indicators. Identify variances to help maintain business efficiency. Monitor quarterly rental rate movements. Assist with the development of financial and valuation models, reviewing calculations for accuracy as needed. Assist with the completion of the internal rate of return calculations on realized investments. Provide additional analytics for Management as needed.

Operational Efficiencies

Assist with monitoring and identifying areas of operational inefficiencies or variances for all funds. Investigate, follow up on and resolve any issues that arise.

Refinancing

Assist with the refinancing process by preparing the refinancing packages and providing the Director, Operations Asset Management with updates as required. Ensure all documentation is up to date and filed correctly.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting;
  • 3-5 years’ analytical experience, preferably within asset management;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to both individuals and groups;
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to multi‑task;
  • Highly motivated and able to take the initiative required to excel in a deadline‑oriented environment;
  • Strong follow‑up skills with the ability to effectively resolve problems in a timely manner using relevant information, sound reasoning and common sense;
  • Actively pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation considered an asset; and excellent command of MS Office products: Excel, Word, Power Point.
