Location: Field-based, servicing commercial, industrial, and residential clients across Northern Ontario

Position Summary: The Senior Installation/Service Technician is a client-facing, field-based role responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security systems and associated equipment. As a senior member of the Technical Division at Advanced Security LP (ASLP), this role is essential to ensuring the reliable delivery of services and supporting the technical development of junior staff. The position requires a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of security systems, a commitment to client service, and the ability to lead on-site installation projects.

Responsibilities
  • Installation, Service & Technical Execution: Complete installation, programming, and commissioning of electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, telephone, and network systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues related to system functionality in various client environments.
  • Conduct regular service and maintenance visits, addressing technical inquiries and deficiencies.
  • Utilize appropriate hand and power tools to perform installations and repairs.
  • Document all work performed through accurate record-keeping, including service calls and work orders.
  • Leadership & Support: Take a lead role in installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and to high-quality standards.
  • Provide on-site guidance, mentorship, and technical support to Junior Technicians.
  • Assist in training and development efforts to build internal technical capacity.
  • Support other technicians on separate job sites as needed.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with clients to resolve complaints and address service inquiries.
  • Conduct site visits and support sales initiatives in collaboration with the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Represent ASLP’s commitment to high service standards and community-focused operations.
  • Operational Responsibilities: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Care for and maintain company vehicle and equipment.
  • Contribute to meeting company goals and performance expectations as set by the Supervisor and Manager.
  • Stay informed on ASLP goals and mandates and operate in alignment with company values and procedures.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Proven experience with installation and service of electronic security systems (3+ years preferred).
  • Advanced troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills.
  • Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion, and related systems.
  • Ability to lead installations and support junior staff in the field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel for periods of time.
Performance Expectations & Metrics
  • Completion of installations and service work to schedule and quality standards.
  • Client satisfaction and resolution of service issues.
  • Mentorship and development of junior technicians.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Consistent documentation and reporting of work performed.
