Position: Security Team Lead
Site: Seneca Polytechnic – King Campus
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Status: Full-Time – Continental Rotation
Hours: 0630/1830 / 1830‑0630
Pay Rate: $22.00‑23.50 per hour

Your Impact

As Team Lead at King, you’ll guide and support a dedicated security team, ensuring safety across sprawling outdoor grounds, classrooms, and specialized healthcare and animal care facilities. You are the “go‑to” leader for students, staff, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor Security Guards during assigned shifts
  • Assign patrols of outdoor grounds, academic buildings, and residences
  • Lead by example in incident response, reporting, and customer care
  • Support health and wellness programming and high‑profile events
  • Oversee training, onboarding, and continuous improvement for your team
  • Coordinate with local first responders and campus departments
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain a proactive, service‑oriented presence
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ security experience (post‑secondary or healthcare preferred)
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience an asset
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Current First Aid/CPR, Use of Force, and crisis training certifications
  • G‑class driver’s license (clean abstract)
  • Outstanding communication, team‑building, and problem‑solving skills
  • Must not be a current Seneca student

Certification Requirements (All)
  • Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
  • Valid Ontario Security License
  • Use of Force in Class Training
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
  • Valid G or G2 Drivers License
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
