Schedule: Continental Days Only – 0700‑1900

Payrate: $20.81/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) After 88 Hours

Start Date: January 2, 2026

Internal Posting Date: November 19, 2025

Internal Closing Date: November 26, 2025

External Closing Date: December 31, 2025

Site Description

The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital emphasizes general medicine and general surgery as core services. Specialists from Kingston regularly hold clinics at the hospital, and the range and scope of those clinics continue to expand as the hospital grows. Emergency services, operating 24 hours a day, see in excess of 26,000 patients per year.

Job Description
  • Conduct proactive and reactive patrols across the main site and associated facilities
  • Monitor surveillance systems and perform patient watches
  • Respond to incidents, intervene when required, and use de‑escalation techniques
  • Investigate routine incidents and complete clear, detailed, and accurate reports
  • Enforce parking, smoking, and other site‑specific by‑laws, policies, and procedures
  • Lead or support emergency responses (e.g., fire, flood, power outage)
  • Ensure all shift documentation, audits, and key controls are completed accurately
  • Review shift paperwork and documentation submitted by staff
  • Train and mentor new team members
  • Coordinate scheduling for last‑minute book‑offs or sick calls
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 6+ months healthcare security experience required
  • 6+ months supervisor experience preferred
  • Valid Ontario Security License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB‑approved source)
  • Proof of double COVID‑19 vaccination
  • A copy of immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2)
  • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.

  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • UoF/MOAB training is not paid; Paladin will cover all training costs with a 6‑month commitment to the position/availability
