The Office of Campus Safety is seeking to fill three(3) part-time vacancies. This position is designated as one that may require a different work week and/or hours of work. This may include evenings and/or weekend shifts. Applicants must be willing to work shift work.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Campus Safety, the successful candidate will provide a higher level of security, fire protection, and health and safety to all students, faculty, staff and visitors, as well as the protection of property.

  • Enforce laws and regulations on campus; Direct traffic and enforce traffic regulations;
  • Investigate complaints, offences and traffic accidents; Conduct security and fire patrols of campus buildings and grounds;
  • Perform traffic and crowd control at special events;
  • Supply information to the general public of a regulatory and directional nature; Provide first-response emergency assistance;
  • Provide money escorts, collection, maintenance of machines and delivery to the Treasury Department; Maintain parking equipment;
  • Provide monthly inspections of emergency phones, parking lots and elevators;
  • Submit reports concerning assigned activities; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College diploma preferably in Law and Security
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of security or police experience
  • In possession of a current Ontario Security Guard license;
  • In possession of a current “G” Ontario Driver’s license in good standing;
  • In possession of a driver’s abstract in good standing;
  • Ability to work at the Ramsey Lake location and the McEwen School of Architecture; Good health and physical condition;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate, CPR ‘C’ with defibrillator training; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.
