As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escape escalation in environments such as a security operations centre, call centers, parking gatehouses and more.

Responsibilities for Surveillance Security Guard

• Conduct Access control duties for all employees, visitors, and vendors including ID checks, screening and issuing passes
• Operate and monitor Walk-Through and Handheld Metal Detectors
• Patrol facility interior and exterior per scheduled times, ensuring safety and reporting hazards or suspicious activity
• Monitor and control vehicle access in and out of the premises
• Conduct proper search protocols for employees, visitors and contractors entering the premises
• Maintain proper key control and log all access and incidents
• Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical situations or security breaches and escalating as required
• Write detailed reports for all incidents, accidents and observations
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to clients, employees, visitors and contractors
• Ensure strict adherence to client and GardaWorld policies, including uniform and department standards

Qualifications for Surveillance Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid BC security license
• First aid certification - an asset
• Strong report writing skills
• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Strong proficiency with technology
