A leading security company is seeking part-time Detention Guards to join their team in Brandon. The role involves ensuring the safety and security of detainees, conducting searches, and maintaining logs of detainee activities. Successful candidates must have a current criminal record and child abuse registry checks, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The position offers flexible hours with a minimum of four 12-hour shifts each month, welcoming all qualified applicants including those with law enforcement experience.

As a member of Brandon Police service detention guards, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety, security, and well-being of arrestees/detainees by following authorized checklists and job aids necessary to administer and execute Detention Guard tasks. Conduct searches of cells prior to occupation and when cells are vacated. Perform physical inspections and checks of arrestees/detainees including the use of closed‑circuit television (CCTV). Assist Brandon Police Service members when required to search arrestees/detainees. Conduct secondary searches. Perform escort duties as required. Handle and dispense laundry items: launder items as required. Record arrestees/detainees activity and maintain the arrestees/detainees activity log book.
Possess current Criminal record and Child Abuse registry checks, additional security checks may be conducted by Brandon Police Services.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Able to function effectively under stress.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to set priorities.
Effective inter‑personal skills.
Experience or credentials in law enforcement and/or supervisory experience an asset.
