Job summary

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Airframe Primary and Secondary Structural Design including Systems Installations.
  • Understanding of airframe design, aircraft configuration, materials, and manufacturing processes.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Plan, oversee, coordinate and prioritize activities of a team of designers to achieve department quality, schedule and cost goals.
  • Provide technical engineering leadership to all team members to accomplish the Program requirements.
  • Define individual goals and expected results for engineering employees in order to support the group and department.
  • Apply BOE and other methodologies to implement and improve business processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and meet strategic goals.
  • Ensure effective management of all aspects of technical engineering associated to Structures, Systems Installations, and Integration by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, and Structural partners/Suppliers.
  • Work closely with the employees to continuously develop skills of team members through coaching, employee training and development, ongoing assessment, and feedback with the objective to build and sustain an environment that supports cooperation, employee engagement and trust.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to Airframe Structure and Systems Installation.
  • Support manpower planning activities and budget preparation.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Airframe Primary and Secondary Structural Design including Systems Installations.
  • You understand airframe design, aircraft configuration, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • You have a working knowledge of Catia V5 engineering software.
  • You have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • You can work on many priorities at the same time and under pressure.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (written and oral) and French (written and oral).
  • You must be able to work in a team environment and interact with Senior Management and other operation support functions (Operations, Quality, Methods and Procurement).
