Position Overview

As a Seafood Processing & Production Worker, you will play a key role in the processing and packaging of fresh and frozen seafood products into orders for the customer. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and a collaborative spirit to help meet production goals and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Processing & Packaging
    • Sort, cut, fillet, and debone seafood products.
    • Package products accurately with proper labeling and date coding.
  • Quality Control
    • Conduct visual inspections to ensure product quality.
    • Monitor temperature controls in storage areas.
    • Report quality issues promptly.
  • Sanitation & Cleanliness
    • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
    • Follow health and safety guidelines.
    • Properly dispose of waste materials.
  • Inventory Management
    • Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of seafood products.
    • Report inventory discrepancies.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with team members to meet production targets.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors.
    • Participate in training and team meetings.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous food processing experience preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail; knowledge of food safety practices; ability to work in a fast-paced, cold, and wet environment; flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays); physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods; good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
  • Environment: Production floor in a distribution centre; may include outdoor tasks.
  • Hours: Full-time, flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting heavy boxes, working in cold storage.
