Our High-Performance Academic-Athletic Academy provides expert academics along with elite hockey training and instruction. The Ontario Hockey Academy is a school that is designed to appeal and meet the escalating need for a training-academic teenage hockey player.

Job Description

We are looking for a committed person to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be responsible for implementing an educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning, teaching, and updating academic classes.
  • All updated course materials need to be copied and turned in to the academic office.
  • Ensure requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education are fulfilled including
  • planning / meeting class-specific expectations, implementing / maintaining student assessments, and following all procedures and rules.
  • Provide appropriate reporting and communication with students, parents, staff and principal including updating Jupiter Grades, providing feedback for parents and attending staff meetings.
  • Ensuring all new Ontario Ministry of Education expectation changes are reflected in OHA course curricula.
  • Provide supervision for one study hall per week.
  • Assist in administering the OSSLT.
  • Required to attend staff orientation.
Requirements
  • Extra-curricular activity : Assist in OHA's school activities (e.g. yearbook, winter carnival, social committee, graduation, alumni weekend).
  • Required to assist in the OHA graduation weekend.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Very good communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Day, evening and weekend work.
  • Must supply Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be currently able to work in Canada or hold a Canadian employment visa.
Salary

25.00 + per hour, based on experience.
