Job Title : Salon Business Consultant
Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie, Espanola, Elliot Lake, Blind River, Mattawa, Deep River, Pembroke, New Liskeard, Kirkland Lake, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Hearst, Moosonee (fly only) Ontario Canada
Ideal candidate would reside in or very near the following cities: Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins Ontario (ON)
Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits!
Salon / Beauty Industry experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Grow the Business: Identify key accounts within territory and establish a route that will be most efficient to grow and develop existing customers while looking for new partnerships. Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs and concepts. Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs. Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors including but not limited to achieving corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner. Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within customers in person to execute established sales goals. Strictly comply with procedures regarding processing of returns including pick-up of returns and required documents. Complete timely assignments and projects across areas of business, service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary functions. Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets. Effectively manage all administrative aspects of the role, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information and activity for the assigned territory. Retain salon clientele by utilizing social media as a form of communication, promotion, education and product knowledge. Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes. Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans and any assistance needed.
- Grow Team and Culture: Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms and social media to grow the business. Share knowledge with peers to grow the team’s digital presence at all meetings, functions and events, and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor. Must be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, booths, handling back stock, and other physical activities as required. Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster change management throughout the team.

Strive for continuous improvement while owning personal development and growing digital & social media techniques to generate new customers and foster existing relationships. Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop professional vendor relationships. Allocate time to learning using available tools and adapt to market changes while building industry knowledge. Maintain an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of () year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
- Must live within the assigned territory.
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines and books of business.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle. Experience with iPad is a plus.
- Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.
- This position requires local travel within the territory and may require attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events including overnight travel and some weekend work.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Frequent and sometimes prolonged driving are necessary.
- Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
- Strong time management and organization skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
- Professional business image and positive interaction with the public. Clear and effective communication at all levels.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
The work environment involves typical safety considerations for offices, meetings, training rooms, retail stores, residences, and commercial vehicles. Use of safe work practices with office equipment; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc.
