Position Summary
The Sales/General Manager is responsible to lead a sales team, develops strategies for selling buses (transit, school, coach) to fleets/authorities, manages key accounts (transit agencies, corporations).
They handle large bids/tenders, build customer relationships, manage inventory & forecasting, and ensure targets are met, focusing on revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership:Recruit, train, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Customer & Relationship Management:Build strong ties with transit authorities, school districts, corporate clients, and dealers.
- Vendor Management:Work directly with manufacturers; International IC Bus, Turtle top, Collins and Eldorado to building strong, collaborative relationships for mutual success.
- Customer Understanding & Focus – Demonstrates a strong grasp of customer industries, operations, and business drivers while providing service excellence and tailored solutions that optimize customer profitability. Maintains ongoing client contact and offers seasoned advice to both customers and internal teams to support growth and long-term success.
- Strategy & Planning:Develop and execute sales plans, identify new markets, and set revenue goals.
- Key Account & Tender Management:Manage large-scale bus fleet sales, participate in public procurement (tenders), and close complex deals.
- Sales Operations and Compliance Oversight – Ensure smooth and compliant execution of the bus sales processes, from strategic planning through execution & follow up, ensuring alignment with internal standards and OEM requirements.
- Inventory Management & Reporting:Manage sales pipeline, forecast sales, track/manage bus Inventory, maintain CRM, and report to the ownership group.
- Product & Market Expertise:Understand bus products, features and services, competitor activity, industry and market trends.
- Travel:Some travel required as needed within Western Canada

Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in sales leadership, specifically within transportation
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of public sector procurement.
- Excellent communication skills and effective listening ability
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to take initiative
- Excellent computers skills including Microsoft 365
- Post-secondary education is an asset.
- A valid class 5 drivers’ license
- Ability to travel
