We are looking for a salaried GP to join our established team working between 4 and 8 sessions per week.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care namely:
- In person consultations.
- Telephone consultations.
- Visiting patients at home and in nursing homes.
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions.
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required.
- All aspects of clinical administration.
Main duties of the job
Working as an autonomous practitioner you will be responsible for the provision of medical services to your personal list of patients.
- You will deliver an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract, participate in enhanced services and the achievement of QoF targets.
- You will participate in the covering the duty doctor session on a rotational basis, which includes a 6.30pm finish
- You will offer generic prescribing, adhering to local and national guidance
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- Work collaboratively with practice team and wider PCN team.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- Provide reports for employers, solicitors and insurance companies and complete medical certificates, benefit agency forms etc.
- Ensure that all work carried out which carries a private fee is properly recouped and accounted for.
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice.
- Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies

Job responsibilities
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
