Job description

We are currently seeking a Bilingual Roofing Project Manager for a full-time position, based in our Montreal location.

The Roofing Project Manager will apply their technical knowledge to evaluate existing buildings and design solutions for our client's complex and unique problems. Projects will include a mix of residential, multi-family, and commercial projects, with an emphasis on repair of damage from fire, wind, flood, and impacts, as well as adaptive reuse of older buildings and enhancements to existing facilities to accommodate changes in use and implementation of equipment and machinery and written are essential.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Observation:

  • Perform quality assurance observation of work in progress to ensure compliance with tender documents and applicable codes and standards

Site Work May Include:

  • Measuring
  • Drawing to record as-built conditions
  • Moisture scanning
  • Photography and data processing, etc.
  • Conduct site meetings with customers and contractors
  • Familiarize yourself with national and local client base and the company’s proposal formats
  • Provide pricing and assistance in completion of contracts and/or purchase orders
  • Coordinate all input for time billing and job costing
  • Other tasks may be required to ensure timely completion of deadlines
  • Provide technical assistance to field technician and technologists
  • Assist in preparation of pre-design on an as needed basis
  • Extended travel as necessary to perform the above listed duties
  • Assist with Contract administration and client management as required
  • Prepare roof condition or building envelope assessment reports using company standard format
  • Conduct leak investigations
  • Conduct attic investigations
  • Attend pre-bid site meetings and bid closing assessment meetings as required.
  • Perform site evaluations, inspections and testing as required to produce condition analysis reports

Other Responsibilities:

  • Compilation of data and photos into report form
  • Photocopying and assembly of reports
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the industry to ensure professional development
  • Ongoing professional development via the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC)

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in roofing (Red Seal in roofing is preferred)
  • Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is preferred (attaining the RRO designation is a requirement)
  • Must be bilingual in French and English (verbal and written)
  • AMCQ certification is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of various roofing systems and construction
  • General comprehension of business dynamics in construction/roofing marketplace
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in negotiation and presentation skills
  • Possess strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Conducts all activities with the highest degree of professionalism while demonstrating business integrity, creativity and team orientation
  • Ability to travel as necessary to perform required duties
  • A vehicle allowance is provided; the candidate must provide a vehicle to accommodate a ladder rack, tools and roofing materials
